  1. pteonlinereview@jroozreview.com | info@pteacademic.com.ph Study Hacks for Read and Write Learners Are you a read and write learner? Meaning: do you pick up and retain information better when it’s presented in print or note form? If so, use it to enhance your PTE review in Makati experience. Tailor your PTE preparations to your learning style and boost your chances of acing the test by taking up the tips below. Read, read, read! Cater to the “read” part of being a read and write learner. Don’t skim your PTE modules and supplementary materials; give them several thorough reading. Emphasis on the word “several.” The more times you read something, the better you’ll remember them. Don’t have the time to reread each and every passage of your PTE center notes and handouts? Take note of the parts that you found difficult during your initial reading. Confine your rereading sessions to those portions. Take down notes.

  2. Cater to the “write” part of being a read and write learner. Take exhaustive, and if you’re up to it, verbatim notes your PTE review classes. Focus on writing as much as you can. Consider these note-taking tips. o Paraphrase the things that the instructor says. o Stick to bullet points when taking down notes. o Take pictures of the whiteboard or lecture slides, so you can focus on writing down what the instructor says. oRecord your lecture session (ask if it’s allowed!), and transcribe the audio later. Try these tips and adopt the ones that best suits your study style. Rewrite your notes. Similar to reading, the more times you rewrite your notes, the better you’ll remember them. Restructure or reorganize them to test your knowledge. For example, if your original lecture notes are in bullet form, you can rewrite them as paragraphs. Convert visual aids into words. If a PTE review in Makati class relied on a chart, graph, table, or diagram, take the time to convert the visual aid into words. Don’t do it during class or you’ll risk falling behind of the discussion. Do it during your self- study sessions. Don’t just study hard. Study smart! Learn your PTE lessons faster and retain them longer with these tips. But, don’t rely solely on them during your preparations. Remember, these strategies only enhance your training experience. Confining your review efforts to rereading and rewriting your lecture notes would do more harm than good to your chances of achieving your grade goals.
