Rules of Thumb • 1 m³ pig manure (PM) produces about 30 m³ of biogas • 1 ton of corn produces about 180 m³ of biogas • Mixture: about 2 to 1 (2 ton PM/1 ton Corn), total dry matter content must be smaller than 20%. • 1 m³ biogas generates about 1.8 kW of electricity. • Typical investment (Netherlands) : • 190 kWe installation: € 0,6 million • 1000 kWe installation: € 2.5 million

  6. Co-digestion in the Netherlands • Operational: 60 installations (25 built by Oosterhof Holman) • Max. Potential: 1000 installations, 300-500 MW installed electrical power. • Depends on electricity price, or possible gate fee for raw materials.
