  2. 1 Timothy 6:11-16 But as for you, man of God, shun all this; pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life, to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 

  3. 1 Timothy 6:11-16 In the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep the commandment without spot or blame until the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ, which he will bring about at the right time -

  4. 1 Timothy 6:11-16 he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords. It is he alone who has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see; to him be honour and eternal dominion. Amen.

  5. Instructions for the Pursuit “Shun This” – The Pursuit of Wealth “Pursue” in Contrast: “Righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.”

  6. Defining the Pursuit • A Man of God is a Man Devoted to God. • Pursue – To Follow After: - Righteousness – The Whole Image of God - Faith – Supernatural Sight of God, The Support of Godliness - Love – Everything that is Good, The Spring of Inward & Outward Holiness.

  7. Pursue with Fight Train in Godliness that is Valuable for the present life & the life that is to come. ~ 1 Timothy 4:6-8 Military or Athletic Language used to describe the Philosophical Life & Characteristics listed in Verse 11.

That’s how winning is done!” ~ Rocky Balboa In life we will get hit, but as people of God we are to pursue perfection and fight the good fight of faith!
