Rough Itinerary • FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24 • 7:15 a.m. Breakfast at the hotel; Depart 8:00 a.m. • 9:00 Arrive Arlington Cemetery • 11:00 Changing of the Guard; 11:15 Wreath ceremony Subway to Pentagon City • 12:10 Lunch – Depart by 1:00 • 1:30 Arrive Capitol; 2:00 and 2:10 Appointments • 4:30 World War II Memorial • 5:15 Dinner – Pentagon City • 6:15 Night Tour – Jefferson, Lincoln, Air Force, Iwo Jima

Rough Itinerary • SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25 • 7:00 a.m. Breakfast at the hotel; load buses; depart 8:15 a.m. • 9:00 White House pictures • 9:45 Arrive Ford’s Theatre; 10:00 Museum and Ranger Talk • 11:15 Group picture • 11:45 Lunch • 1:00 Arrive Washington Monument; 1:30 tickets • 2:30 Mount Vernon; 3:30 Mansion Entry • 5:15 Korean and Vietnam War Memorials • 6:30 Dinner at Fuddruckers – 734 7th St. NW. D.C.,(202)628-3380 • 8:00 Depart • 8:30 Arrive Kennedy Center • 9:00 “Shear Madness” at the Kennedy Center • SUNDAY, OCTOBER 26 • 9:30-10:00 a.m. Arrive Westville School

Take on the Bus • Winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves • Backpacks with toiletries • IPODS with earphones • Must have a watch • Motion sickness pills • Camera/phone/Chargers • Prescription meds/Tylenol etc. • Pillow and Blanket • Raincoat • Small Playmate size cooler • Non messy snacks • Drinks in plastic bottles with screw tops. WATER ONLY! • DVDs if you want to share with the group **(PG and teacher’s discretion!)

  6. The bus has WI-FI butLeave these at Home! • Small DVD Players • Video cameras • Portable Gaming Systems (DS, PSP, Xbox etc) • I-pads/Laptop computers • Energy drinks, caffeine pills, etc. • If you should choose to take electronics: the school and travel company are not responsible for lost items or damage which may occur on the bus.

  7. Under the Bus • Garment Bag – might be shared with roommates: Dressy Clothes only needed by Wreath Layers • 1 suitcase per person (tag/mark your suitcase) • 1 large cooler for the room (to be shared by all roomies)

  8. On the Bus • Stay seated (no yelling or screaming) • Talk quietly • No Caffeine or Energy Products • Restrict drinking fluids • After the movies, boys sit with boys & girls sit with girls for lights out. • During lights out: you must be quiet and sleep. (you may quietly listen to your own MP3 players with headphones during this time but not your neighbors)

  9. General Dress Attire • Dress will follow the guidelines set forth by the student handbook. • Dress should be clean, neat, and simple • No holes in jeans • No shirts that advertise tobacco, alcohol, or that are in bad taste. • Dress in layers

  10. Shoes • Comfortable tennis shoes should be worn. Please do not wear new tennis shoes. • Socks must be worn • Flip-Flops and sandals are not permitted when going on tour for the day. • On an average day, you will be walking about 5 miles!

  11. “Sheer Madness” Guidelines • Do wear… • Khakis and polo’s • Dressy jeans and sweaters or • Nice Blouse, Button Shirt • Dress Shoes, clean tennis shoes, nice boots • Don’t wear… • T shirts • Jeans with holes • Dirty Tennis Shoes • Shorts • Dressy Clothes! They are not necessary!!!

  12. Arlington Guidelines • For students not laying the wreath… • Dress for the weather in layers and comfortable shoes. • For individuals laying the wreath… • Shirt and Tie OR suit • Dress • VERY nice coordinated outfit • No open toe/back shoes or high heels

  13. Hotel • No yelling in the hallway. • Shoes worn outside of room (flip flops allowed only in hotel) • No slamming of doors • No mixed company in rooms only in public areas (ie: hall/pool) • You should only be in our hallway or the pool area (during our allotted time) • Lights out, sleeping, taped doors, security guards

  14. During the Day • Be considerate and listen to the people talking to the group. • Be on time – If you are 5 minutes early, you are never late. • You can never be by yourself!! Find a partner to be with or Mr. Marshall and the Jones’s will be your partner for the duration of the trip.

  15. Cell Phone Policy • Keep them with you unless we tell you to leave them on the bus! I will give you my cell phone # on the bus. • When we have a guide with us, you are to be listening to them, not playing on your phone! • A violation of this might result in phone being confiscated for the duration of the day. This includes texting, games, apps and internet use!!!!!!

  16. Problems • For minor infractions such as violation of lights out, or buddy rule, students will have a one on one discussion with Mrs. Jones and Mr. Marshall • For second offense- a phone call home • For third offense or any violation of the handbook such as stealing, fighting, drinking, tobacco etc. – Airplane ride home immediately at parents’ expense.
