  1. International Symposium on Electrocatalysis Szczyrk, Poland, 29th August – 1st September2018 Recent Advances in Electrocatalysisand Photoelectrocatalysis

  2. Szczyrk is a picturesque mountain resort (with hiking and skiing facilities) lying in Silesian Beskid Mountains located in the southern part of Poland. It is approximately16 km (10 miles) south of the city of Bielsko-Biala and about 100 km (65 miles) south-west from Krakow (Cracow), the ancient Polish capital. The resort has many tourist attractions. It can be easily reached by bus from the Krakow (KRK) international airport (ca. 2 h by bus) or from the Warsaw (WAW) international airport (ca. 3.5 h by Express-InterCity-Premium train to Bielsko Biala). In late August, the weather is sunny and warm (20-25oC, 70-80F) but the temperature may drop at night.

  3. The meeting will be held in ”KlimczokHotel”, a conference-recreation centernicelylocated in between mountains. Having in mind the size of the meeting (150 participants) and our intention to keep the cost reasonable (i.e. affordable both to regular participants and for students), we are going to offer a packagecoveringaccommodation, fullboard and socialevents (get-together, banquet, grill party etc.)

  7. International Symposium on Electrocatalysis Szczyrk, Poland, 29th August – 1st September2018 Recent Advances in Electrocatalysisand Photoelectrocatalysis Scientific Program The goal of the Symposium is to bring together scientists of different backgrounds that are active in various aspects (mostly fundamental with some reference to potential applications) of: • electrocatalysis, including (but not limited to) processes of importance to the development of fuel cells (e.g. of oxygen reduction or oxidation of alcohols, etc.), water electrolysers, carbon dioxide reduction and other clean and renewable electrochemical technologies • photoelectrocatalysis, e.g. water splitting under illumination, hydrogen generation, photooxidation of a large variety of organic compounds, photoelectrochemical treatments of pollutants

  8. International Symposium on Electrocatalysis Szczyrk, Poland, 29th August – 1st September2018 Possible tourist attractions: Szczyrk and sourroundings:mountain hiking and trekking, relaxation, nature seightseeing, spa, professional sport and health centers Optional excursions: to historic Krakow (Cracow), Wieliczka Salt Mine, Zakopane (in Tatra Mountains National Park) Entertainment: folk music and dancing, good food and beer (famous Zywiec brewery is only 16 km or 10 miles away from Szczyrk)
