  1. DE Agenda for January 30, 2012 • Work on rough draft to “A Modest Proposal” in Rm. 214 • Read “A Clean Well-Lighted Place” and discuss; do questions in class

DE Agenda for February 1, 2012 • Pass out Read like a Rock Star British Independent Reading Book Choices • Go over “Library and Lunch” Half-Day Field Trip • Read “A Rose for Emily” and discuss; write a story with your own creepy ending and share it with two classmates • Read “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings” and write your own illustrated fable in a group

DE Agenda for February 3, 2012 • Work on peer/self editing of “A Modest Proposal” essay in Rm. 214 • Finish illustrated fable in a group and share it with the class • Begin reading “A Good Man is Hard to Find” plus read critics’ analyses of it; write three quotes from story and two from critics, plus a paragraph of how you would analyze it

AP Agenda for January 31, 2012 • Complete AP MC Practice #10 • Go over comparison/contrast essay packet starting on p. 299; do brainstorming in group on a sample comparison/contrast essay • Assign comparison/contrast group activity on p. 431 (we will work on this in-class on Feb. 8 in Rm,. 214 and begin to present it on the same day) • Upcoming Due Dates: • We will work on the final draft to one of our midterm essays next class period; it will be due at 11:59 pm on February 2. • You will complete AP Essay #9 on a comparison/contrast topic on February 10.
