Grade 7 - Communication Homework Diary - signed daily (parent), checked weekly (tutor) • Vital link between – teacher, pupil, parent & tutor. • Time management – academic timetable, homework timetable, target setting, etc • General written communications - lateness, absences, queries , etc Email • Email tutors or HoG at anytime with any concerns. Grade 7 - Opportunities • Student devised assemblies - CNY • Tutor Group representatives - Chair, Vice-Chair, House, Treasurer, Secretary, etc • Junior Council - Student Leadership • Social Service - year-long commitment to a community on Bintan, Indonesia e.g. an orphanages or schools • Transition Ambassadors - Grade 6 into Grade 7 • Environmental Guardianship - PSX (G11 peer mentoring) environmental programme • Extensive ECA programme – linked to SMILES Awards • SMILES Award – precursor to NYAA, CAS • Music Performance – Music Assembly, Music café, Grooves on-the-Grass

Academic Supporting home learning Homework timetable • Average length of homework should be in the region of 30-40 minutes each • Aim is consolidate and build upon class work – focus on creativity, problem-solving and challenge • Develop and promote good study habits – time management /organisation/adherence to deadlines, enquiry and independence
