  4. Textbook page 114 • Today, you are going to be able to define protozoa. • Identify where you can find protozoa. • Identify the characteristics of protozoa. • Name 3 types based on the way they move.

  5. Definition: for your notes • Your textbook states that Protozoa are unicellular and a eukaryote meaning it has complex structures enclosed in a membrane. • Protozoa comes from the Greek ”proton” meaning “first” and “zoa” meaning “animals.”

  6. Does anyone know of any other one cell living things? • What word in the definition means one cell? • What is a membrane like? What does it do? • Do you have any membranes? If so, what are they?

  7. Information Stations • You are going to rotate among 5 information stations. Each station has directions concerning what the purpose is for that station. • There is a timer that will be set for 15 minutes. You will rotate to another station at the sound of the timer. • You only need to choose 4 of the 5 stations.

When you hear the timer, please move with your team to the next station in number order. • Station 1 has textbooks available for research. • Station 2 has a computer to research the topic. • Station 3 has a computer to view 2 videos. • Station 4 is an art area to draw 3 typesprotozoa on your worksheet; label the motile part the makes it unique and defines the type of protozoa it is. • Station 5 has many other resources. Be creative! Use these in a way to learn something additional or make something to present to the class.
