  2. Birth & Death • Was born in the Khentii Mountains Mongolia • His birth name was Temujin • He lived to the age of 65 • Only after founding the Mongol empire was he named Genghis Khan • Had four sons Jochi, Chagatai, Ogedei, and Tolui

  3. The war • In 1211 Genghis khan waged war on the Jin dynasty • 50,000 Mongols on horses desened on the Jin dynasty • The chin army had approximately half a million men and 150,000 • They were beaten and abandoned the western capital • In 1212 though the Mongols were winning they went back to Mongolia

  4. The war 2 • The Jin were forced to pay a large sum of money to them • The truce was short lived and later on that year they invaded the Jin dynasty again. • This time was in a two phase attack one with his youngest son Tolui and the other by Genghis Khan himself

  5. The war 3 • Once again they left the Jin Dynasty with another large sum of money • Anther important part of these wars was that the jin Dynasty was unable to fight the Mongols in open combat • Also no matter how large the wall maybe they will still be able to get in.

  6. Final years • Died the year of 1227 • The person that was left in charge was his son Ogedei • He lived to the age of 65
