  1. GUSTAR The verb ‘gustar’ is used in Spanish to convey the meaning “to like”. It’s literal meaning is “to be pleasing to”.

  2. GUSTAR Examples: Me gusta la comida. = I like the food. The food is pleasing to me. Le gustanlaspelículas. = He likes the movies. The movies are pleasing to him.

  3. GUSTAR The singular form of gustar is used when what is liked is singular. (gusta) Me gustael libro. = I like the book. The plural form of gustar is used when what is liked is plural. (gustan) Me gustanlos libros. = I like the books.

  4. GUSTAR Put one of the pronouns before gustar to say who likes something: megusta(n) = I like nosgusta(n) = we like tegusta(n) = you like osgusta(n) = you all like (Sp) legusta(n) = he/she likes lesgusta(n) = they like you like (formal) you all like

  5. GUSTAR Use the letter “a” + a name to clarify who is doing the liking. _A_ Elena le gusta la pizza. Elena likes the pizza. 2. _A_ Marta y A Bob les gusta la pizza. Marta and Bob like the Pizza. Use the letter “a” + quién/quiénes to ask “who” likes something. ¿_A_quiénlegusta la pizza? Who likes the pizza. ¿_A_quiéneslesgusta la pizza? Who likes the pizza?

  9. GUSTAR Use the word “no” directly before the pronoun to say “don’t” or “doesn’t”. A mí_no_ me gusta el libro. I _____ like the book. A mí_no_ me gustanlaspelículas de terror. I ______ like horror films.
