  2. Acts 20:7 • Troas: Eutychus falls from loft • Paul at Troas and continued preaching until midnight • Eutychus fell asleep and fell down to the ground from the 3rd floor and dead • Paul went down the ground and picked him up and revived him and went on preaching

Acts 27:27 ,Paul (1) • Paul’s witness during the shipwreck • Destination: Italy • Purpose: delivery of Paul • Julius :a centurion of the AugustanRegimen • Name of the ship:Adramyttuim • The projected course: the coasts of Asia,Sidon,shelter of Cypres,Cicilia, Pamphylia,Myra (city of Lycia) • Change of the ship to Alexandrian ship to Italy • Cnidus,,,strong winds

  5. Acts 16:25 (1) • Paul and Silas at Phillipi • Place=prison • Time=midnight • Occurrence (1)= 1praying and singing hymns, upward direction, vertical, not downward direction • Occurrence (2)=earthquake

  6. Acts 16:25 (2) • The result=chains are loosened, freedom, release from bond, restriction, restraint • The Philippians' jailer No. 1 concern, question= Did all the prisoners run away, escape ? Answer= NO !!! Paul and Silas did not escape, did not take advantage of the opportunity Real and true personal integrity

Acts 27:27 ,Paul (3) • Day 14 (from the time of shipwreck) • At Midnight the sailor sensed that they are drawing near the some land • Midnight : salvation, life not death,(+) • Sailors : attempt to escape from the ship! • Paul’s word:" Unless you stay in the ship, you can not be saved” • The soldier cut the rope of the skiff (no way of escape, no other alternative)

Acts 27:27 ,Paul (4) • Day 14 th: Paul’s instruction and recommendation to his fellow soldiers, prisoners and others; take nourishment (eat) for this is for your survival • Paul gave thanks to God in the presence of all and ate the bread under the difficult circumstances (shipwreck) • The total number of persons on board=276 • All ate and encouraged

  31. Acts 27:27 ,Paul (5) • After the meal and threw away the foods (cargo) into the sea to lighten the ship • Fatal shipwreck near the land • Everyone (100 %) got to the island safely either by boards or swimming • 100 % survival as Paul’s prediction

  32. Centurion’s kindness • At the time of shipwreck and impending disaster and chaos, • The soldiers’ plan= kill all the prisoners. Reason=They are afraid of prisoners swimming away and escape, taking advantage of the confusion and disorder • The centurion’s plan= ‘No’ to the soldiers , do not kill the prisoners • The real reason= he wanted to save Paul (one of many prisoners on board)

  33. Take home point • Because of the centurion’s kindness and thoughtfulness , Paul’s life was saved for the time being. • Never forget people’s kindness and thoughtfulness during your life journey.
