  2. The Pyramids of Giza were built in Giza, Egypt. • They were built roughly around the ages of 2550 to 2490 B.C. • The three pyramids have survived 4,500 years and are still in almost perfect condition. Location

  3. Pharaoh Khufu built the first pyramid, his son, Pharaoh Khafre built the second, and Pharaoh Menkaure built the third. • These pharaohs built these pyramids to serve as their tombs. • These pyramids were used to be the pharaohs’ grave site. Purpose

The pyramids are so unique because not only is an ancient building phenomenon, but it also preserved the past within its stone walls. • It took around 20 years to build each pyramid. • It took about 2.3 million blocks of stone to build each pyramid and mortar was used to stick the stones together. Uniqueness

  5. There are two parallels to similar structures in use today. • One is the glass pyramid in front of the Louvre Museum in France. The other is the Great American Pyramid in Memphis, Tennessee. • The Great Pyramid is one of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, but the other two pyramids are not. Ancient Foresight
