  3. Staging and Lighting • Living room on the right side of the stage including a sofa, bean bag, a bookshelf, a small table and a TV • Mom and dad are sitting on the sofa. Dad is admiring the TV while mom is reading a magazine. Ernie is sitting on the bean bag, reading or playing with a gadget. • The door is on the left side of the stage • Soldiers enter through the left door • Lights are on living room scene then fade out and go to the door where the Officer is knocking and shouting • Spotlight is on Ernie when he is talking

  4. Costumes and Props • Mom is wearing tights, a skirt, a blouse and big jewelry • Dad is wearing pants a shirt and wears glasses • Ernie is wearing a T-shirt, jeans and is reading a book or playing with a gadget • Soldiers are in uniforms

  5. Soldier/Horse Puppets

  6. Characters • The real life characters should have some gestures and have big facial expressions. Each character will have their own voice • The Soldiers focus more on big movements and on creative voices • Characters need to focus on having good gestures at right times and clearly expressing their feelings

  7. Music and Special Effects • At the beginning there should be slow, quiet music in the background, when the scene starts it fades out. • Loud thumping sound when the Officer knocks on the door. • Adventure music when the Officer threatens to open the door by force. • Big crashing sound when the Officer breaks the door and runs into the dad. • Shooting sound or balloon popping when the people get shot.

Staging and Lighting • Character come run on with their pieces of the boxing ring and build it together. • Some people can bring in chairs and drinks for the people. • A red carpet can be rolled out for the kid to enter • Spotlights shine on the boxers as they enter the ring • Dim lighting except for on the ring and a spotlight on Ernie when he is talking

  10. Costumes and Props • The Kid is wearing a champions belt and a boxing head gear and gloves • Auntie May has a hand bag and is wearing high heels and a dress and later has boxing gloves • Ernie is wearing jeans and T-shirt • The man is wearing a T-shirt, jeans and a baseball cap

  11. Puppets and Characters • There could be several huge puppet characters in the audience cheering on the kid while the real characters are supporting the opponents • The kid could possibly be the boxer and be huge compared to auntie May • The man and Ernie are fascinated by the boxing • Auntie may is first socked then joins in happily becoming more and more intense. • They all shout aggressively for their boxer

  12. Music and Special Effects • The music should be exciting • When Auntie May volunteers there is a loud cheering and booing • Loud bangs and crashes when Auntie May beats up the Kid • The song “we are the champions” could be playing when Auntie May wins • Thump sounds when the boxers fall to the floor
