  1. Music Magazine- The Evaluation.  By Bella Bright-Mortey

  2. Forms and conventions.. ● The way in which my magazine uses, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real music magazines? Looking at my forms and conventions my cover doesn’t have a lot of advertisement but instead it focuses more on the design and specific articles in the magazine. This gives my magazine it’s own look and originality whilst still following guidelines such as my colour scheme, which is kept throughout.

  3. Representational issues.. ● How does magazine represent particular social groups? I believe that ‘FLEX’ represents teenagers today because a lot of teenagers are interesting in RnB and especially Hip Hop. ‘FLEX’ brings together two contrasting yet similar representation of social groups

  4. Institution.. ● What kind of institution might distribute your magazine and why? The kind of institution I would distribute my magazine would probably be big supermarket shops, corner shops, and other shops that sell magazines. Also I would like if it would be distributed in shops such as Nike town, this is because teenagers mostly shop at these kind of stores and also it is not out of reach because Nike Town is in Oxford Street where many teenagers go to shop, and even adults.

  5. Target audience.. ● Who would be the target audience for my magazine? My target audience as stated in my rational would be teenagers. [people around my age and above].

  6. Attract/address.. ● How I attracted/addressed my audience. I attracted my audience with a big red noticeable masthead, and also with a front cover eye catching model, and a interesting looking contents page and a interesting looking interview. I addressed my audience with a double page spread.

  7. Technical/construction issue.. ● What have you learnt about the technology from the process of constructing your magazine? ► I learnt that LIGHTING is very important when photographing, no matter how good the camera is. I thought because I used a good camera it would be easy to edit, but I found that dark skinned people look dark no anyway. ► Also I found it challenging cutting out my pictures that I had taken, I had to get the hang of it before it started to go right. ►The construction of my magazine helped me inprove in my photoshop skills.

  8. Comparison between preliminary and main task.. ● Looking back at my school magazine cover, between creating that and creating my music cover. How did the school magazine cover help? The school magazine helped me get prepared for the big main task. It made me know how much work I would have to do and how enjoyable it would be actually making my own music magazine. Also because I didn’t design my preliminary task half hearted I had to work even harder on my main task.
