  2. Uranus • Uranus is named after the Greek God of the Sky • Uranus’ moons are named after Shakespearian characters • Uranus’ atmosphere is made up of hydrogen, helium and methane

  3. About Uranus • Uranus is called the ice giant • Uranus is a blue-green color • Uranus is mainly made up of ices called hydrogen and helium • The rest is a rocky material

  4. Temperature • The temperature on Uranus is -195 degrees Celsius or -383 degrees Fahrenheit.

  5. the size • Uranus is larger than earth • Diameter 51,118 km • Radius 25,559 • The fourth largest planet in our Solar System

  6. The Passing Time • The length of one day is 17 hours and 12 mins • The length of one year 83 earth years and 273 earth days

  7. Surface Gravity • Surface gravity to earth 89% • Rotation on the axis 8 degrees • On Uranus the gravitational pull is almost the same as the earth

  8. Missions • Uranus was discovered by Voyager 2. • Voyager 2 is the only spacecraft ever to have flown by Uranus • As far as we know, there are no future plans to visit Uranus.

  9. Moons • Uranus has 27 moons • The two largest moons of Uranus are Titania and Oberon. • The moon closest to Uranus is Cardelia

  10. Oberon • Oberon is the second largest moon of Uranus. • It was discovered by Voyager 2 • Oberon seems to be roughly made of half ice and half rock.

  11. Titania • Titania is Uranus’ largest moon. • It is 1000 miles in diameter • Titania was also discovered by Voyager 2.
