  1. Uranus By Eric C.

  2. This project will show you what type of planet Uranus is, about its orbit, its temperature and the features that disclose itself from other planets. It will explain everything you need to know about the planet and also some fun facts.

  3. Astronomical Data • Distance from sun(AU): 19.19 • Orbit(Relative to 1 earth year): 84.00 • Rotation(Relative to 1 earth day): 0.72 • Mass(Relative to Earth): 14.5 • Radius(Km): 25 559

  4. Surface Data • Temperature(°C): -215 • Gravity:0.886g (Which would mean someone who is 45 pounds on earth is 40 pounds on Uranus) • Weather: Mostly windy, and also the planet consists of 10 main clouds. • Composition: Hydrogen, helium, methane and deuteride. As well as ice.

  5. Nearby Objects • Uranus has 27 Natural Satellites. • Their names come from characters from the work of Shakespeare and Alexander Pope. • The five main satellites are: Miranda, Ariel, Umbriel, Titania and Oberon. • Uranus also has a small ring system, that is barely visible.

  6. Past Explorations • NASA's Voyager 2 was the first and only exploration of Uranus and none other are planned thus far. • Voyager 2 came within 81,500 km to Uranus' cloudtops. • Voyager 2 observed and studied the composition and structure of Uranus' atmosphere.

  7. Mission Badge From Voyager 2's mission which launched in 1977, and came closest to Uranus in 1986.

  8. Fun Facts • Uranus gets its marble like appearance from the methane gas it is composed of. • Titania(the biggest natural satellite of Uranus) is the 7th biggest satellite in the solar system • Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun and also one of the four gas giants.
