  1. Sometimes I draw stuff and put it in a PowerPoint Amber Harden 4th period art class

  2. I also write artist statements • I was born in Florida in 1997, and I’ve lived here ever since. I’ve always been interested in art, but I never really pursued it until sixth grade. Most of my inspiration comes from music, stories, and nature. Most of my free time is spent reading, drawing, listening to music, or a combination. I personally feel art is one of the things I am most comfortable doing.

  3. Claes Oldenburg- Inspiration Claes Oldenburg is a sculptor, best known for his monumental versions of not-so-monumental objects. He was born on January 28th, 1929. He married Coosje Van Bruggen, who died after 32 years of marriage in 2009 from the effects of breast cancer. They worked on many collaboration sculptures together. One of his most famous works is “Spoonbridge and Cherry”, which was built in collaboration with Coosje for the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

  4. “Day at the Beach”- Amber HArden

  5. Skull Drawing Practice I didn’t think I would like this project very much, since I’m not very experience with realistic drawing. However, I was surprised when I found myself wanting to stay after class to put more and more detail into it. The shading was especially fun!

  6. Class Portfolio This is a portfolio I created to keep all my work from art class in. We were supposed to put in things that reflected ourselves. I put the tree with paint splatters because I love colors, and making things the opposite of what someone would expect. The moon, clouds, and colorful feathers symbolize something my mom once called me, the “Vibrant Night Owl”. I don’t sleep much, and most of my time awake is spent drawing and coloring.

  7. Hand Composition Project This piece was really fun to draw. I enjoyed experimenting with the watercolors. I tried to focus mainly on sky-related things; the two bottom hands create a bird like shape, the top right hand symbolizes the sun, and the top left symbolizes a plane.

  8. Plaster Mask Project The plaster mask project was easily one of my favorite activities we did this year. I was absent for most of the project, but in the time I had to work on it, I had nothing but fun! I painted cracks in the mask a dark grey because even though we all put forward a good face, cracks in our own masks show the real storm of emotions within.

  9. Wire + Tinfoil Sculpture The wire and tinfoil sculpture was very interesting. The wire was hard to work with, and the tinfoil didn’t stay in place in some areas(reason why wooden stand is only half covered), but those were only little set-backs. I positioned my wire-man in a way that looked like he was about to kick something, like a soccer ball.
