  1. Teaching Words Authentically and Effectively in the Middle and Secondary by Timothy Rasinski Review presentation by Samantha Bolton

  2. Summary: In his article, “Teaching Words Authentically and Effectively in the Middle and Secondary Grades,” Timothy Rasinski stresses how important the knowledge of words are in all content areas, but since his area of concentration is English he focuses his techniques on the English content area. He wants to express to teachers that words can be fun and that making the learning of words fun instead of tedious will instigate better learning and longer retainment of the words we are trying to teach to our students. He encourages teachers to teach students in a manner that encourages students to become harvesters of a large vocabulary of words and their meanings.
