Host City: Louisville, KY • Founded in 1778 • Sits adjacent to the Falls of Ohio, which is the only major obstruction to river traffic between the upper Ohio River and the Gulf of Mexico; thus the city’s utilization as a portage site really drove it’s growth • The local Metro Area ranks 43rd nationally, in terms of population. Subject: Membership • Full details of APICS Membership Strategy Changes can be found in the May 2016 version of Leadership Central: click here • The primary objective with regard to these changes is to increase Membership Retention. • We are not sure how these changes will impact the IDP Program just yet • Rebates will NOT change SED Manager Steve Rudnicki kicks off Day 1 of the District Meeting in Louisville, KY

Subject: APICS HQ Update • APICS new “value pillars” from an individual standpoint: Membership, Education, Credentials • APICS new “value pillars” from a corporate perspective: Affiliation, Transformation, Research • The ongoing “digital vortex”, or digitization of industry, is triggering a new Digital Strategy for APICS Lisa Sallstrom, Senior Director of Certification with APICS HQ addresses our District Meeting

Subject: New Digital Strategy • New responsive APICS website is approximately 40% complete • APICS is upgrading its SOPs and training its staff around the “digital customer experience” • Education Portal was launched Jan 2016 • Internet-based testing: pilot program underway, set for launch in July 2016 • Contact for IBT pilot program: Gabby Welch – gwelch@apics.org

Subject: Education Delivery Methods • Self-paced training industry is growing in recent years from 20% of market to 27% of market • APICS developing new self-study courseware • APICS Online (powered by Accenture) also an option: click here • Pilot webinar program to be scheduled by the end of 2016 • Currently investigating the creation of APICS alternative delivery methods for all APICS courseware

Subject: CLTD • Exam Content Manual is available now on www.apics.org • Learning system available July 1st • Very similar to CSCP learning system style • CLTD is produced via Holmes partnership too • Exam can be purchased on July 1st • Unscored CLTD exam available on Oct. 1st • 2017 Instructor Materials due November 1st • Various exam & learning system discounts offered through end of year Note: Pilot CLTD class is being held in late August in Greensboro, NC POC: Anne GatewoodAPICS SED Staff Member anngatewood@gatewoodassociates.com

Subject: Scorecard, part II • Courseware purchases ONLY include books • The “15% of membership base” section of the Baseline Compliance box INCLUDES students that are members of the Chapter (does NOT include students that are members of affiliated student chapters) • Chapter can contest any metric on the Scorecard and ask it to be re-evaluated (must have documentation); use email link on scorecard • For “Member Exams Taken” count, this only includes actual exams taken (does NOT include purchases) • For in-house class training to count towards Chapter Scorecard credit, information must be submitted to Tawana Collins/APICS HQ. • The CBAR and the Scorecard system will continue to be utilized for the foreseeable future • CBAR submissions due by July 31st, 2016 Scorecard POC #2: Tawana CollinsAPICS | APICS Supply Chain Council tcollins@apics.org

Other Highlights: Louisville Steve Eldridge, Director of Finance & Controller Transportation at ACL, spoke to our group on the importance of our country’s barge fleet to the transportation infrastructure. Did you know that one 15-tow barge will carry more freight than over 1,000 tractor trailers? In fact, 20% of our nation’s coal and 60% of U.S. grain goes through the barge network. Brian Reed, Sr. Transportation Director at Papa John’s Pizza speaks to our group on Fleet Safety initiatives, which have led to significant improvements at their growing organization (50 locations in 1991 - - now over 1,500 locations in 2016). One of the mottos that their team uses comes from Papa John himself: “Make the main thing, the main thing” - - meaning actively focus on what you say you focus on.

13. Other Highlights: Louisville The APICS SED team toured the Louisville Slugger factory & museum. APICS SED Manager Steve Rudnicki took the mound at Louisville Slugger, where he proceeded to throw 3 consecutive 92-mph, sidearm 3-seamers for strikes. No warm up. (Okay, we’re bluffing a bit on the velocity!)

14. Other Highlights: Louisville In what was truly a special value-add, the Falls Cities Chapter arranged for a riverboat dinner & cruist aboard the Belle of Louisville, which was built in 1914. APICS SED Staff Member Scott W. Luton and his family enjoy a meal at The Brown Hotel, a Louisville landmark and home to the original “Hot Brown” open-faced sandwich. The hotel’s renovation has created a historic gem that takes you back to 1923. The view from the hotel - - which was located right in a neat downtown area, near the popular Fourth Street Live! Entertainment complex.
