  1. YOUR Ideas, YOUR Initiatives project ByCharlie Kloof, Nikki Wubben, Ignacio Peláez González and NathanyaSeyed Mehdi

  2. Who are we: Hi! We are Charlie , Nikki, Nacho and Nathanya(aged 14/15). We are from the Netherlands. We are currently in the International School Almere. Our school We have been told about this project by our mentors. In the lessons and after school we started doing further research about the project and we had to think about what and how we were going to make a creative project about road safety. Filmingfor the video

  3. What have we done: We decided to focus on risky behaviours. Drivers in the Netherlands and in other countries get injured or are involved in a car accident due to distraction. Working on the city We have made a small video about things that could distract your focus on the road (like drinking alcohol, calling while driving, etc.) and we have added a small paragraph about why not to do these things on the road. Working on the city

  4. How did we start: In class, we have been doing research aboutirresponsible things that people do on the road, like drinking alcohol, calling while driving, etc.. The topics that we are discussing in the video are relevant because these things are common in the Netherlands and many other countries. Risky behaviouris a big issue on the road, many people do not respect the laws or believe the chance of injuries is small. We believe that it is very important to understand what you are doing on the road and to respect the rules. Filmingfor the video

  5. The city: We decidedto make a small video showingwhyriskybehaviour is important. Since we wantedto do somethingcreative, we created a cityfromdrink packs, cartons of milk, cornflakes packs, paper, etc. to use as a base for our video. We have also made trees from carton and paper. Working on the city

  6. The video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dpz1kfFuA1k The filming was harder than we thought. Also, we didn’t have a professional camera which made us have a low quality of film material. With some effects and funny videos, this did not seem to matter for the viewers. Editing the video and making a presentation In the video, you see shots from the car driving in the city. Then, the camera zooms into the car and you see a shot from someone doing something risky in the car. After this, we added a shot of the car crashing into a building, trees or a person to show that these things could really happen. We have also used signs (thumb up/down) to show that the person in the car is misbehaving. Filmingfor the video

  7. Whois our target group: With our video, we want to target people our age or older to be careful. Misbehaving on the road could really cause injuries or lead to death. This is something we have to avoid, and one big step is to behave on the road and to make sure you keep yourself to the rules of your environment. And we want to make sure that, with the different projects that also the other students have done, we can reduce the number of people killed and injured on the roads. Presenting at Groenhorts College Almere

  8. Whodid we present itto: After we were done editing the video and finalizing our project, we looked for a community to present our video. We have chosen to present out project to a school named Groenhorts College, in Almere. The age group the people were in was 13-15. The reason we chose this school is because this school allowed us to present in front of their class and we wanted to present our video to a school in Almere. Presenting our project Other groups from our school have been doing their presentations/projects in Almere too, so we agreed to keep it into Almere for now. We hope the people understand the problem and that they will respect the laws and road for their own and others’ safety. Presenting our project
