  3. Kindness The Bible Definition of Kindness • The definition of kindness begins with God. • God is kind to believers. • “That in the ages to come He may show the incomparable riches of God's grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.” • (Eph. 2:7)

"Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32). "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience" (Colossians 3:12).

Kindness The Bible Definition of Kindness • In the Bible, kindness is often associated with mercy and love. • Proverbs 20:28 describes qualities God wants in a leader: “Mercy and truth preserve the king, and by lovingkindness he upholds his throne.” • Peter wrote of adding love to “brotherly kindness” (2 Peter 1:7) • Paul wrote about putting on “tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering” (Colossians 3:13).

Ruth (Ruth 2-4) • Ruth was kind to her mother-in-law, Naomi. • Boaz was kind to Ruth because Ruth was kind to Naomi. • Boaz married Ruth. • Ruth had a son, Obed. • Obed was the father of Jesse. • Jesse was the father of David the king of Israel, an ancestor of Jesus.

Goodness The Bible Definition of Goodness • The definition of goodness begins with God. • After each creation, God looked at it & said, "It is good." • Goodness means something that pleases God. • A good person is a person who is pleasing to God. • Goodness is whatever is worthy of God’s approval. • What does it take to please God? Whatever that is, that will be good.

(Romans 8:28)
