  2. Anxiety Definition: distress uneasiness of mind cause by fear of danger or misfortune

Statistics • Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the united sates(effecting 4 million adults in the us age 18 an older) • Anxiety disorders are highly treatable let only 1/3 suffering receive the treatment • People with this disorder are 3-5 times more likely to go to the doctor and 6 times more likely to be hospitalize • Anxiety disorder caused the us more then 42 billion a year

  4. Sings and symptomsEmotional • Feeling tense and jumping • Feeling of apprehension or death • Irritability • Anticipation the worst • Restless • Watching for signs of danger • Feeling like your mind is going blank • Irritability • Trouble concentration

  5. Signs and symptoms Physical • Muscle tensions • Headaches • Fatigue • insomnia • Pounding heart • Sweating • Stomach upset or dizziness • Shortage of breath

  6. Treatments • Anxiety Therapy Clinic • There are all different kinds of medication and psychotherapy. • Some drugs actually may help your anxiety • Dietary and lifestyle changes • Relaxation therapy

  7. Tips to mange Anxiety • Breathe: • Breathing will slow down or stop the stress response • Deep breathing for about 1 min at a time • 10-15 times per day every time you are waiting for something • Manage the body: • Eat right • Avoid Alcohol • Exercise • Sleep • Consider hormonal changes

Tips for Managing Anxiety • Knowing or not showing fear • Having a little fun • Turning it off • Worry well but only once • Mindful Awareness: • With eyes still close purpose fully shift your awareness away from your body to everything you can hear/smell or feel for your skin • Shift awareness back and forth of your body to what's going on around on
