Bulgaria – political and economical situation • Economical BULGARIA PRIDES IN STABLE ECONOMIC GROWTH Bulgaria registered stable economic growth over the first three months of 2005 and expects to see even better results for the next three moths due to the additional pre - election expenses stimulating the consumption. A report of the Centre for Economic Development showed that the country's GDP in the first three months has gone up by 6% as compared to the previous year, thus registering a record high level. The report explained that the record level is due to the credit expansion, which resulted in increased consumption and boosted interior supply. Bulgaria's industry has marked a boost two times bigger than the one seen back in the first three months of 2004, the report reads. The industrial growth has excelled the services sector and the agriculture sector. The exports level is higher than the imports and should that tendency remain unchanged, the high foreign trade deficit, one of the main risks for Bulgaria's economy will be eliminated.
