  1. Electron Tunneling Microscope Processing The use of an electron tunneling allows for density to be fully examined and recorded. While many other types of microscopes only show two dimensions, this one goes beyond that. It offers a 3-D element, allowing experts to fully divulge into the smallest elements that are in place to create a given subject. The scanning process is conducted with the use of a sharp probe. It is taken around the circumference of the subject. The electric current generated allows the data to be recorded as that probe moves along the surface of the subject. For the best results, the probe needs to be moved at a consistent speed. It also needs to be a consistent distance from the object as it moves. This process allows even the individual atoms that create a subject to be identified. They can then be made larger under the microscope. Doing so isn’t going to distort them or make them fuzzy. Instead, they will be very clear and that information can be used for science, for medicine, for engineering, and to make the world safer for all of us! Tunneling Effect The term used in research for this type of electron microscope process is the Quantum Mechanical Effect. This is the principle that allows you to see far more than just the surface of a given subject. Along with a feedback loop, the tunneling is able to be completed using the electrical currents from the probe tip. This is a very detailed and complex process, but one that has done wonders.
