ttH (h->bb) samples status

ttH (h->bb) samples status. We have 20k @h100 gen/sim with v9.0.4, then Reconstructed/AOD built with 10.0.1 We have another 20k @ h130 in the pipeline. Higgs group is producing 20k @h110, and 20k @h120. Higgs group also working on 50k gg->ttbb ‘REDUCIBLE’ background.

  1. ttH (h->bb) samples status • We have 20k @h100 gen/sim with v9.0.4, then Reconstructed/AOD built with 10.0.1 • We have another 20k @ h130 in the pipeline. • Higgs group is producing 20k @h110, and 20k @h120. • Higgs group also working on 50k gg->ttbb ‘REDUCIBLE’ background. • We are also producing other NLO bg such as qq->ttbb gg->Z/gamma/W->ttbb (Stan)

  2. Remember this slide? • mailed S. Correard. –why doesn’t the irreducible bg scale with the signal? – after all, its irreducible! • Turns out that his ‘irreducible’ bg is gg->ttbb, which is actually reducible, compared to true irreducible bg of ttZ (Z->bb)....

  3. A. Pickford’s thesis: • Plots show Jet Pt, Energy and  for ttbb (filled) and Higgs decay (points) • Clearly this is slightly reducible... so Sebastien possibly should not have used gg ->ttbb as ‘irreducible’. • Heard nothing back from him when I suggested using ttZ..
