All other employees will report to work at 10:00am Thank you

First Press Release Columbus Consolidated Government Operations Schedule for Monday January 10, 2011 TO: All News Media  FROM: Teresa Tomlinson Mayor, Columbus, Georgia CCG Employees Work Schedule: All CCG emergency and essential personnel as determined by department heads will report to work based on normal work schedule. All other employees will report to work at 10:00 am. Trash Pickup: Monday garbage collection will be delayed until mid to late morning. If weather is such that it is unsafe to operate the trucks, the garbage pickup schedule will shift to the sliding holiday schedule where Monday garbage is picked up on Tuesday and Tuesday garbage on Wednesday and then resume normal pickup schedule on Thursday. Public Services Work Crews: City work crews and trucks with sand will work through the night to deal with icy spots on roads, hills and bridges as required. Crews are also on standby to deal with fallen limbs, branches and trees. 311 Center (DIAL 311 or 706-653-4000): The 311 Center will open at midnight to accept “non-emergency” calls such as trees and limbs. For all emergency calls, please dial 911. We will continue to monitor the situation as it develops. Should circumstances warrant, the city will issue additional direction. All citizens are urged to limit travel to necessary and/or required trips to insure safety for all. Second Press Release Columbus Consolidated Government Operations Schedule for Monday January 10, 2011 TO: All News Media  FROM: Teresa Tomlinson Mayor, Columbus, Georgia CCG Employees Work Schedule: The Columbus Consolidated Government offices will be closed until Tuesday, January 11, 2011 to insure the safety of the citizens of Columbus and the employees of the Consolidated Government. All emergency services will remain operational. We have continued to monitor the weather situation through the night and the circumstances warrant this decision. Trash Pickup: The garbage pickup schedule will shift to the sliding holiday schedule where Monday garbage will be picked up on Tuesday and Tuesday garbage on Wednesday and then resume normal pickup schedule on Thursday. METRA Transit Service: Bus service will be canceled today and regular transit service will resume Tuesday with the usual routes/transit service. Public Services Work Crews: City work crews and trucks with sand will work throughout the day and night if required to deal with icy spots on roads, hills and bridges. Crews will remain on standby to deal with fallen limbs, branches and trees. Courts: Superior Court – Monday, January 10 – Superior Court schedule has been canceled, today’s schedule will resume on Tuesday. State Court – Muscogee County State Court cases scheduled for Monday, January 10, 2011 at 8:30am are rescheduled for Monday, January, 31, 2011 at 8:30am. Witnessed subpoenaed for Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 1:00pm will be re-subpoenaed for Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 1:00pm. All persons summoned as jurors for Monday, January 10, 2011: All jurors summoned for Monday, January 20, 2011 are to appear on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the same time and same place as was ordered on Monday, January 10, 2011.
