  2. What is a web documentary • Educational or informative video or document online • Provides a user journey • Narrative of some sort • Interactivity • New face of presenting such documents • Aesthetics come into consideration

Prison Valley • Semi-open narrative (2010) • Exploring Fremont County, Colorado • Created by French journalist David Dufresne and photojournalist PhillipeBrault • TV documentary, a web documentary, a book, an iPhone app, and an exhibition in Paris all on it • Viewers of the web documentary are asked to sign in through Twitter, Facebook to make an account on the film’s site to share their experience of the story • The storyline is like a road trip • Encouraged to take detours and learn more about the background, news, and other information about prisons in America • 36,000 souls and 13 prisons

The concept • What will users be able to do on my journey: • Navigate the pages that all link back to one focal point • Scroll through pages to follow different journeys educating users the further they scroll through an event • Provide them with a sound and rounded understanding of the overlapping theme that runs through every story

  5. What its about • Hull City’s achievements from the 2008 playoff final to the F.A. Cup final on May 17,2014 • Includes all key incidents that have taken the club through ups and downs to the success of now • Explanations and media to support each other

  6. Target audience • Football fans • People of Hull • People interested in documentaries online or interactive media • Sport followers

  7. Structure • This is how the home screen will look • Central point for everything to come back to All circular shapes will be designed like footballs Timeline and each page will be white like football pitch lines Picture when icon is hovered over 2013

  8. Storytelling • Linear • Non- linear (My document) • Non- linear allows users to choose their own path in the story and link on to other pages related Home

  9. How will it be interactive? • Users can interact with my document in numerous ways • Play videos (highlight/ interviews) • Scroll through content with finger • Tilt screen for easier/ more comfortable viewing if needed • Zoom in and out to read smaller text • Click through pictures

Scrolling options • Swipe left/ right/ up/ down • Click/ double tap • The best option is to swipe right as you flick through pages • Natural way to flick through files and pages • Up or down would be confused with scrolling up or down on a certain page if there is a lot of text/ information • Clicking or double tapping would be confused with zooming • Simplicity is the best way
