Strategic School Improvement Fund • SSIF Round 1 • 2oo bids nationally, 27 bids from the South West • STS – collaborative partners in 6 bids focusing on: • Developing Oracy • Improving phonics outcomes • Improving maths outcomes • Building leadership capacity at all levels • Teacher recruitment and retention • Improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils • Potentially £1.5million of S2S funding for Swindon and Wiltshire “ A partnership for excellence”

Strategic School Improvement Fund • SSIF Round 2 • Autumn Term we think! • STS can facilitate groups to come together to put in joint bids and act as a conduit for potential TSC bid writing money • Knowledge of potential partners and bids from others in the South West “ A partnership for excellence”

  4. Initial Teacher Training Recruitment for 2016/17 Number of Primary School Direct salaried – 18 Number of Primary School Direct PGCE – 5 Number of Secondary trainees– 20 so far, but still recruiting “ A partnership for excellence”

  5. Initial Teacher Training • Request for places for 2018/19 has been made • Included salaried places • No new information on Apprenticeship route “ A partnership for excellence”

Continuous Professional Development • Number of CPD events held:  111 • Total number of delegates attending CPD events:  1544 • Number of Primary Schools teachers attending CPD events: 1209 • Number of Secondary Schools teachers attending CPD events:38 • Number of Nurseries/pre-schools practitioners attending CPD events: 29 • Aggregated delegate feedback: 100% of delegates stated that training would have a positive impact on pupils’ learning in school. “ A partnership for excellence”

  8. Research and Development • Some funding available from Teaching School to support RIGs in 2017/18 • SEND assessment (Redoaks & Uplands) • Objective-led planning in EYFS and KS1 (5 schools) • Using virtual reality technology to engage pupils (Swindon IT group) “ A partnership for excellence”
