There is a very famous Chinese saying ' prepare for the tough time before it comes'

Actually part of how my grandmother used to educate me everyday was to keep on telling me what kind of bad situations she had experienced and how she was able to survive simply by being a 'good person'. According to her, to be a 'good person' is all and what it takes for any situation in life. My dad calls me a big fan of grandma and I am. She never went to school, never had a job, had to move from home to somewhere far and cold, lost her husband, and someone killed her son, experienced a few terrible wars, experienced hanger, poverty, and amazingly maintained an attitude of loving people around her and forever put others first...  When I think about it, she must have created all her good habits when she went through all those things that I could hardly imagine.
