  2. Leader: FORTH / ICE-HT (C. Galiotis) Responsibility: To develop/organize/apply communication tools to improve the NoE’s efficiency and relate to the JPS Committee. Table of Partitipants

Objectives of WP14 • To develop and apply a set of communication tools that will allow the Network to improve its efficiency in: • Integrating partner knowledge and development plans • Spreading knowledge generated inside the network • Link the Network to society to continuously monitor needs and regulations • Link the Network to industries to continuously monitor needs and opportunities • Link the Network to other scientific institutions and/or Networks to continuously monitor new scientific • and technological developments. • Main Activities in WP14 • WEB related activities • Newsletters, creation of a scientific journal • Interactions with the society

Main Deliverables of WP14 • WP Progress Reports • Periodic workshops for specific topics (in collaboration with WP 4-7) • Annual Network workshop • Assistance to international conference organization for young scientists • NANOFUN-POLY website providing different communication functions: • Forum, discussion groups, • Filing of reports and publications • Public and restricted sections, • Advertising for courses and conferences • Positions available in Network partners, • Virtual learning, etc. • NANOFUN-POLY newsletter • Edition of a scientific journal • Communications to general public • Input to regional, national and EU policy committees • Common logo

WP14: Spreading of Excellence - Communication and Linking to Society • First 18 months • Tasks • Development of a dual-use WEB-based portal (www.nanofun.net) at three levels: • Simplified, Advanced and Restricted. • Advanced level will include: • Summaries of Joint Research projects and Transfer Technology programmes, • Publications • Advances in Ph.D activities, • Conferences/ workshops proceedings • Articles in newspapers, • Links to other related web pages • Online technology database available only to project partners. • Major operation: Establish opportunities for virtual distance learning • Simplified level will include • Multimedia presentations • On-line articles available to the public. • Announcements.

WP14: Spreading of Excellence - Communication and Linking to Society • First 18 months • Tasks (continued) • Establish outreach staff at FORTH / ICE-HT • Help to organise Europe-wide ‘generic’ introductory workshops/training • Design, construct and populate web-portal (in collaboration with JPI and JPR) • Maintenance –Updating of web portal with info-emerging techs • Design, distribute and support outreach articles/releases for European media • The core of this task will be the establishment of a new scientific Journal targeting to Nanostructured Polymers and Polymer-based Nanocomposites
