October 31, 2013 • Journal: Using your novel, list 5 instances of foreshadowing that you annotated, and tell me HOW they came true • Introduce ‘Persuasive Text’ (Literature Books, pg. 981-987) • Note-taking Worksheet (Packet) • Discuss Ch readings/Grade Questions • HW: Read Ch 6; annotate characterization & make predictions. • (Write chapter summaries for ALL chapters!)

  5. November 1, 2013 • Journal: List 5 examples of figurative language you have marked in the text, and explain why you think the author chose them to help explain that particular situation. Cite page numbers!! • Finish filling out Note-taking Worksheet using pg 984 in Literature Book • Discuss Ch 6; grade Ch 1-7 Vocab • Listen to ‘Zoos: Myth & Reality/Zoos Connect Us to the Natural World in Interactive Reader; do all ‘Monitor Your Comprehension & Activity Pages • HW: Read and Annotate Ch 7: diction, idiom, predictions.
