  2. “HCC’s Vision” ‘ To shift power from the state (in the form of the County Council and its local partners) to individuals and families, both personally and also in geographic localities in which they live. It seeks to position councillors as an indispensable resource within active communities. It aims to ensure that residents are suitably informed to allow them to influence and shape local services and take a more active part in helping them help themselves.'

  4. Context • Members may have seen these pages before: • Following an email from Cabinet Member for Herts Local & Libraries • Presentation at Localism Member Training event • Through adding biog to Councillor pages • But a quick tour as a reminder

  5. Member feedback • Not the small issues • What would make Members engage with this sort of site? • More information? Different presentation? Online forums? Just the issues ironed out? … • What would make Members want to signpost their residents to it? • More interactivity? • Better presentation? (photos? Different tab arrangement?) • Something else altogether?

  6. …and finally • Member focus group • Ideally: • Engaged in the subject matter • At least a basic knowledge of using websites • At least a basic knowledge of using social media
