3. Milestones of the CCTO The CCTO registered as an Incorporated Association in Sep 1986
The VIC was opened Christmas 1988
First full-time Manager employed in Jan 1996 – May 2006 (10 Ľ years)
Four part/fully funded trainees/casual admin. – short term
Feb 2005 – Chamber of Commerce officially represented by CCTO
March 2005 – VIC supervisor appointed (2nd full-time employee)
4. How are we funded? Yearly Income 2005/06 (exl. GST):
$60,000 Membership (of which $40,000 is CCTO and $20,000 is transferred to our RTO, Capricorn Tourism for dual Membership) – we currently have 180 financial members
$60,000 Livingstone Shire Council
$25,000 Commission on Sale of Accommodation, attractions & tours ($250,000 gross)
$20,000 Cash Corporate Sponsorship
$6,000 – Other promotional activities (e.g. Visitor Guide)
$5,000 – Sale of Souvenirs in VIC
TOTAL INCOME (OPERATING BUDGET) IS $156,000
Yearly Expenditure:
$80,000 – Wages & On-costs 2 full-time staff – General Manager & VIC Supervisor
$20,000 – On-costs (work vehicle lease/expenses, superannuation, workers comp., FBT etc)
$35,000 – VIC operating costs (office, rates, phone, maint, insurance, audit etc)
$15,000 – Promotions, advertising, marketing
