Naviance • Naviance - is comprised of four critical dimensions: Success Planning, Career Planning, Course Planning and College Planning • Seniors can use Naviance to aid in: • College Searching and Listing Prospective Colleges • ACT Preparation Software • Personality & Career Interest Profilers • Creating a Resume

  3. Your Son’s Checklist • Senior Meeting with School Counselor (Resource) • Resume – Complete resume using Naviance template • Letters of Recommendation – Acquireletters from staff members at St. Mary’s (Teachers, Coaches, Counselors, Administrators, Club Moderators, Etc.) IF NEED BE • ACT – Take and Retake ACT • College Search – Use Naviance to college search and narrow down prospective schools

Your Son’s Checklist (Cont.) • Campus Visits – Make campus visits to the schools on the top of your son’s list • College Applications – Complete online or paper college applications to schools at the top of your son’s list (Online Prefered, but not always offered) • Transcripts – Request transcripts from your guidance counselor for completed applications • Check on Submitted Applications – Make sure colleges have received the application and are processing the application

Your Son’s Checklist (Cont.) • FAFSA – Submit FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1st (FAFSA Workshops put on by SLU & FAFSA Frenzy) • Scholarships – Seek out scholarships available through your employer, organizations you or family members belong too, corporate scholarships or by searching the web (I will send scholarship opportunities via email to the whole class when I receive them)

  6. Your Son’s Checklist (Cont.) • Call for Additional Financial Aid – In April and May of this year, call attending college or university and see is your son qualifies for more scholarship monies or financial aid • Baccalaureate – Attend Senior Baccalaureate to celebrate your son’s and the classes accomplishments

  7. Further assistance • For further assistance please contact your son’s guidance counselor • Meetings are Available: • Set up a face to face meeting • Set up a phone conference meeting
