Content Area: Social Studies • Grade Level: 3rd Grade • Summary: The purpose of this instructional PowerPoint is for students to learn, through interactive technology, the names, locations, and sizes, of the five oceans. • Learning Objective: Given maps and information about the five oceans on Earth, the student will be able to locate all five oceans on a map and identify which is the largest and which is the smallest with 100% accuracy. • Content Standard: 3.1 Process and report information identifying, locating, comparing, and contrasting the major continents and oceans: North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Australia, Asia, Antarctica, Arctic, Atlantic, Indian, Pacific, and Southern using maps, globes, and other technologies. • Accomplishment: Know the names, locations, and size (by comparison) of all five oceans.
