  2. Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,And sorry I could not travel bothAnd be one traveler, long I stoodAnd looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Q1: What makes the traveler look down one path as far as he could?

  3. Q1: What makes the traveler look down one path as far as he could? • He wants to know the pros and cons of that road in order to make a better decision.

  4. Then took the other, as just as fair,And having perhaps the better claim,Because it was grassy and wanted wear;Though as for that the passing thereHad worn them really about the same, Q2: What makes the author choose one road over the other?

  5. Q2: What makes the author choose one road over the other? It looks grassy and wanted wear to him. That is, one road seems to be more appealing to him. Moreover, the assumption that one road is less traveled arouses his curiosity. Therefore, he has his final decision.

  6. And both that morning equally layIn leaves no step had trodden black.Oh, I kept the first for another day!Yet knowing how way leads on to way,I doubted if I should ever come back. Q3: Why did the author doubt if he could come back ?

  7. Q3: Why did the author doubt if he could come back ? • He might not have the chance to go back. Even if he returns to the same crossroads, things would change. Then, he might approach the whole situation from different perspective. In addition, a series of events resulting from previous choices might affect future decision-making.

  8. I shall be telling this with a sighSomewhere ages and ages hence:Two roads diverged in a wood, and II took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
