  2. Dear Friends,I am enjoying my vacation and tour of old schoolhouses thus far. I visited one old schoolhouse in particular and was able to sit in refinished school desks of students from 1920-1950. The tour guide told my group about how young students were taught handwriting and how to place their papers parallel to the edge of the desk and slant their papers on an angle for the most legible writing techniques.
