  1. „OMNI-BUS” PROJECT „Information at your doorstep!”

  2. Description of the project • Objectives: to create a widely accessible job-orientation and training information system. • The soul of the project is the ÉRÁK info-bus which provides mobile carreer guidance, job orientation and information service all over the North-Hungarian region. • The OMNI-BUS helps fight for equal rights as „the information is delivered to your doorstep.”

  3. Services • Creating an internet-database • Regular & computerised counselling • Videophone and webcam counselling • Using electronic carreer guidance systems • Mini-clips to introduce trades/crafts • Organising shows to introduce various trades/crafts : „Open Gates” • Supplying info-booklets

  4. Project objectives • Our project delivers adult and vocational education information to the wide public, particularly to remote & rural areas to improve equal rights. • We wish to make training related information accessible by ensuring the conditions for a professionally run counselling and service providing system. • Registered unemployed and inactives should reach our services. • We wish to deliver our services and trainings to our cilents and partners alike.

  5. Justification of the project • Lack of people with proper qualifications • Sparse participation in adult education • Ageing and low qualification equals less chance to enter adult education • Society needs uniform guidance & counselling systems • Employment of women is scarce

  6. Possible partners • Mayors and notaries • Municipalities of minorities • Labour organisations • Civil institutions (foundations, associations) • Micro-region representatives • Primary & secondary schools (vocational and grammar) • Pedagogic Institutions with regional scope • Community houses • Family-help centers, etc.

  7. Figures of outcomes • We reached 605 settlements within a year; • one OMNI-BUS can reach 100 places; • On average 30-40 persons visit the bus per day and are helped by 15 staff; • We expect to reach 18.000 – 24.000 people, 9.000 will directly require information, 24 000 will be informed indirectly; • A bus will work 200 days a year from March to November, with two days per location; • We will train 38 counsellors;

  8. Regional effects of the project • The project wishes to mobilize the inactives (in active age) who are not found by the labour orhanisations for various reasons (lack of counsellors or geographical distance). • We wish to find the soIutions for them to become active members. • Our project may serve as a model for other regions.

  9. Target groups of the project • Direct: adults in the North Hungarian region and youngsters at some disadvantage willing to choose a carreer. • Indirect: counsellors, adult education experts from the sub-regions and the surroundings of the direct target group.

  10. Innovativeness of the project • Novelties in its aims and objectives as well as in its tools. • Mobility: in both the technological background and the professional assistance, thus making the information available even in the most disadvantaged areas.

  11. Coherence and linking to other strategies • Harmony with the 2007 Action Plan of the State Employment Bureau • Harmony with the Social Renewal Programme • Harmony with the National Concept for Regional Development through the Pannon Spring Carpathian Basin Adult Education and Services Network • Harmony with the regional Operative Programme 3.1.3.
