  1. How Bail and Bond are Different Legally The two words “bail and bond” are often used interchangeably when it comes to Jail; release. While they are quite related to each other, they are quite different. On one side bail is the amount of money set by the court which the defendant has to pay to get out of jail. On the other hand, a bond is posted on the defendant’s behalf, most probably by a bail bond company in Harris Countyto secure his or her release. Bail is not a punishment for the defendant rather it acts as collateral left with the court ensuring the defendant appears on all the court dates. If the defendant violates the conditions of the release, he might lose the bail amount paid to the court. Possible Rulings in the Bail Hearing are: Release on own recognizance: The person is released upon signing an agreement promising to appear on all court dates. Personal Bond: the person is released upon signing a bind that he or she will be liable to all the further legal consequences on the failure of appearance on court dates. Bail Set with Terms of Release: the defendant will be free by paying the bail amount the court sets or obtaining a surety bond from a bail bond company. Denial of Bail: the court may deny the bail due to fight risks or a risk to the public for hardcore criminals. Reach out to Bail Bonds in Harris County to get the best assistance.
