  3. In 2012 we purchased a puppy for our 7 year old son… He has trained her. Training Through Greg’s Eyes

  4. There are different types of water system samples: • Investigative • Routine • Repeat • Each sample type has a purpose. • As rules change, things can get confusing. Water System Management

  5. Why • Online search for training turned up the following: • Training makes one successful. • Training improves our skills. • Training keeps us engaged. • Training is vital for progression. • How • Train your trainers (leaders) • Develop key relationships The Why and How

  6. “Wherefore now let every man learn his duty, and to act in the office in which he is appointed, in all diligence.” • (D&C 107:99 ) • “…ensures that all boys ages 8 through 11 are registered in the Scout program and that all Scout leaders are registered and receive proper training.” • (Handbook 2: Administering the Church 11.5.3) LDS Leader Responsibilities

Church training starts at a young age for everyone. • Priesthood training starts in Cub Scouts • Prepares boys to receive the Aaronic Priesthood • Aaronic Priesthood prepares for missions and Melchezidic Priesthood. • “You can not teach what you do not know; you can not lead where you will not go.” Training in Church and Scouts

I work for the Forest Service and am continually trained in the following: • Continuing Education for License • Water System Operator Training • Wastewater System Operator • First Aide and CPR • Defensive Driving • Trailer Towing • Budget Training • Leader and Management Training Professional Training

  9. A cornerstone of the Boy Scout programs is training. There are many opportunities available to youth at various levels to further develop. -scouting.org • BSA requires at a minimum: • Youth Protection • Position (Leader) Specific Training BSA Training Purpose

  10. Youth Protection • This training is a great place to start. It shows that the focus of the program is the boy. • Leader Specific • No better initial training in all of BSA. You will learn what you are asked to do, and how to succeed. • Round Table • This is a great opportunity to keep the leader specific training moving along with you in your calling. What are the recommended Trainings?

  11. On February 27, 2013 we had our fourth child. • On the evening of March 3 she stopped breathing while I was holding her. • I had been trained in two ways: • First Aid and CPR (scouting and work) • Power in the Priesthood Grateful for my Training
