  2. Living Off The Grid Mean? Living off the grid means producing enough green energy on your own, that you can provide power for your whole house without any help from the electrical company. That is living

  3. Off The Grid Living Advantages Off the grid systems not only provide power for home use but also allow consumers to send excess power back to the grid. Some countries have other ways of encouraging consumers, like providing subsidies and tax rebates to defray purchase and installation costs. The main reason for buying it is still the fact that it cuts down on the utility bills.

  4. Solar Panels A solar panel is a simple contraption that is made of a bunch of solar cells capable of converting sunlight into electricity. The ordinary panel that can be seen these days on just about every roof-top is good enough for at least heating water. Add a few more panels, and it can just as easily fulfill the entire energy needs of a typical home.

  5. How Solar Panels Work? When the sun hits the panels, the energy is absorbed causing the electrons to become 'excited' and move rapidly. This encourages the electrons from the boron side to move towards the phosphorous side creating small electrical charges ready to be captured for our purposes of creating energy.

  6. How to Use Solar Power? There are several ways to use solar power around the house and not just for powering. You can use it to heat your hot water, heat your pool or even your central heating or if you have plenty of roof space and a reasonable amount of sun you can get a grid tie system;
