Funding Opportunities Pfizer - Centers for Therapeutic Innovation (CTI) RFA Coming Soon!Information Session: Monday, Sept 10, 1pm, Duncan Reid Conference Room The CTI is looking for projects in inflammation, renal disease, and cardiovascular disease.  Key criteria selection for funding will include, among others: Strength of data supporting validation of the target, Association to human disease, Target druggable with protein therapeutic, Scientific assets (including potential lead candidate drugs), Reasonable feasibility of scientific project, and Clear path forward to proof of mechanism studies in humans.  To learn more details about the program please attend an information session hosted by Partners with a presentation by Dr. Patrice Milos, the Boston-CTI site head.  The BWH Session will take place on September 10, 2012 at 1:00PM in the Duncan Reid room on 75 Francis St.  Also, for more details please visit https://ctipartners.ideareach.com and sign up for a secure log-in.  To read Frequently Asked Questions about the CTI program, click here for FAQs.  Questions about the program should be referred to Frances Toneguzzo (ftoneguzzo@partners.org) and Brandy Lynn Houser (bhouser@partners.org).

Call for Abstracts – Fall Poster Sessions BRI Center for Regenerative Therapeutics Abstract Submission Deadline: Thu, Sept 13BWH employees of academic rank of Instructor or below are invited to participate in the Center's poster session on Fri, Sept 28, 2012 from 5 pm – 6 pm in the Cabot Atrium. Abstracts related to bioengineering, stem cells, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, biomaterials, medical and diagnostic devices and nanotechnology research are invited. BRI Cardiovascular, Diabetes & Metabolic Diseases (CVDM) Research CenterAbstract Submission Deadline: Wed, Sept 26The CVDM Center invites you to submit an abstract for its poster session on “New Innovative Technology on Cardiovascular Diseases”. The goal of this session which will be held on Wed, Oct 10, 4 pm - 6 pm in the Bornstein Family Amphitheater/Cabot Atrium is to bring together BWH clinicians and researchers whose work and/or interests relate to the field of cardiovascular technological innovation, to promote cross-collaborative research efforts, and to stimulate new ideas that can lead to groundbreaking and effective approaches for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. National Postdoc Appreciation Week – Sept. 17-21 BWH ORC Celebrates National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW) annually to recognize the significant contribution that postdoctoral scholars make to the U.S. scientific research enterprise and to increase awareness of this contribution.  BWH ORC Celebrates NPAW with fun events and a prize drawing!  Details coming soon!

Deadline: September 21, 2012Amount: $1000 award for the best abstracts More than 100 posters will be displayed around the hospital from 8 am - 6 pm on BWH Research Day, November 15, 2012.  Authors must be present at their posters from 12 - 1 pm.  Everyone is invited to submit an abstract. Authors ranking instructor or below will be considered for awards.
