  8. A Walk Down Memory Lane • Light Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion • Marine Air Control Squadron • Marine Air Support Squadron • Marine Air Traffic Control Unit

  9. In the Beginning • As early as the 1920’s Marines were experimenting with aircraft in order to guide them towards intended targets or assist them in landing safely.

  10. There were a few... • During World War I Marine Aviators relied on pre-briefed missions and hand and arm signals to conduct missions which consisted mostly of observation and limited bombing raids.

  11. Who Dared to Dream ... • Of a better way to take the battle to the enemy and make him never to want to wage war again.
