    2. Lets meet Jay Jay is a 40 year old with autism, bi-polar condition, obsessive compulsive disorder and intellectual disabilities. Jay lives in a house with two roommates. He frequently pours out the milk in the middle of the night and there is no milk in the morning for breakfast.

    4. Lets Meet Zoe Zoe is a 40 year old client with Down Syndrome who constantly interrupts the service provider. When all the clients are working independently and the service provider is going around the room working with individuals, Zoe makes animal noises to get the service providers attention. Zoe does not get work done independently.

    6. Lets Meet Kim. Kim is a 32 year old with autism. When Kim gets her tasks finished before everyone else, she scribbles on the desk or table area or disturbs all her neighbors.

Promoting Self-Management Self-monitoring (e.g., the client tracking own performance by logging incidents such as speaking out of turn) Self-reinforcement (e.g., taking a break following completion of a specific number of work tasks, recruiting praise from an adult for use of a particular social skill) Self-correction (e.g., client uses behavioral checklist to evaluate own performance at the end of each work period)

Meet Rebekah- Prader-Willi Syndrome 22 years old Works at a school library shelving media materials Works 4 hours a day Frequent meltdowns at home Full blown tantrums Tears up the house Siblings live in fear of tantrums Refrigerator has to be locked at all times Basement door has to be locked and food kept in basement Trash must be monitored at all times Wanting to transition from home with parents to group home Need a plan for meltdowns

    11. Crisis Management If the client's behavior poses a significant risk to self or others, a plan to ensure safety and rapid de-escalation needs to be developed. Crisis plans are reactive, rather than proactive. Team members may require outside training to implement procedures.
