  1. Keyless entry system benefits There was a time when keyless entry sounded like a kind of science fiction! After all, how could you have locks without keys? They go together and always have. As far back as Ancient Egypt, locks and keys have been guarding tombs, temples and palaces. Why change that now? Today’s children will grow up accepting keyless locks as a quite normal thing as indeed they are. Here at Locksmith Masters Naperville we offer a bevy of keyless entry systems to our local Naperville, IL customers. Even if you don’t live in the area, you can still enjoy keyless entry in your life. Read on and see its many benefits so that you can take advantage of this modern security wonder. What happened to the key? If you are unfamiliar with keyless entry, you might wonder just what happened to the key. In truth, the key has been replaced by something else. In many cases, this may be a keypad or a dial. Sometimes a bar code or fingerprint may take its place. While these may be keys of sorts, they aren’t the traditional bladed and handled key that we are so used to. Something has to open the lock and whatever it is, is the actual key or its replacement. Less hassle One big advantage of having keyless entry is that you lose the hassle of all those keys! Say you want to go for a run or to walk the dog. Instead of lugging around a key ring in one hand or risk losing it from falling out of a pocket, you simple close the door behind you and re-enter later by punching a number sequence into the keypad. This is much easier and less trouble than fumbling with keys and the risk of losing them during your run. Another example would be your primary school janitor. Remember all the keys he had? You could hear him coming down the hall from 10 classrooms away! He needed keys to classrooms, offices, bathrooms, closets, cafeteria, gym, lockers, storerooms and more! It’s no wonder those custodians had big key rings dangling from their belts! Enhanced convenience Being able to dispense with keys gives you greater convenience as you no longer have to fumble with one key after another in order to enter a room or building. This is evident in commercial settings like banks and call centers where staff and visitors alike swipe a badge or employee card in order to gain entry into a work room, office or secured area. Badges can be worn around the neck, clipped to a pocket, kept in a purse or worn on a belt. Your badge allows access as long as you are authorized and even your time of entry can be monitored and recorded.

  2. Dispense with rekeys Have you heard the expression “change the locks?” It usually means rekeying the lock so that only new keys can be used. This service is done when too many keys are in circulation or if a key has been lost or stolen. Rekeying locks allows for greater key control and bolsters security by making new keys essential for entry. So what’s the problem? There isn’t any, really but instead of altering the lock and cutting new keys, there is a simpler and faster solution if keyless entry is used. The keypad device can be easily and quickly changed to block a badge, key card or number sequence. New ones can be quickly issued and assigned to new employees or visitors. The whole process can be done quickly and with good record keeping to boot. Keyless entry systems allow this and it can be used to change locks after a roommate or significant other moves out, or after a staff member relocates or is terminated. Keyless entry can be used at home, for your car or at your business so it’s very versatile in its applications. Click Here to Learn More
