  1. Gavaskar shares why Team India 'need not worry' about England Test series India may have lost the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final by eight wickets at the hands of Kane Williamson-led New Zealand but they shouldn’t be worried about the upcoming five-match Test series against England, believes the batting legend Sunil Gavaskar. Gavaskar revealed that the pitches will be drier during the time when the series will take place and that England’s pace bowlers - James Anderson and Stuart Broad may not be that much effective if they fail to take wickets early. However, in his column in The Telegraph, Gavaskar has opined that the Indian batsmen shouldn't be too concerned while taking on England as the conditions will be much more favorable for them.

  2. "Indian batsmen need not worry about the series against England in August-September as the sun will be out by then and the pitches will be drier and with the greatest of respect, if Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad don't get wickets in their first spell, they struggle in their next spells," wrote Gavaskar. He further added that the Indian players should not be disappointed of their WTC final loss but instead they can use this disappointment in the next series and bring the change as well. "The English summer has begun with disappointment [for India] but when disappointment fuels determination then fortunes can be turned and that's the attitude this talented team need to make this a truly Indian summer," he again shared. However, India will play against England in a five-match Test series which will start on August 4. The last time they played a Test series in England against the hosts, they had lost 4-1 as well. Since 2007, they have toured thrice (2011, 2014 & 2018) but couldn’t win any of the series. While India won the Test series against England at home earlier this year, they will try to win one in England as well.
