  1. PM and gaseous pollutants: Lab’s responsibility • Synchronization • Lab’s responsibility (user provides first row of actual data), and tool provided. • Software deletes exceeding rows in recordings of different length of data • Averaging time: All records after the initial one • Aggregated values • Real-time exhaust flowrate estimation possible with three different methods (provided by user, as a sum of intake air and fuel consumption, from CVS flowrate and CO2 reduction) • Driving cycle distance (HDE-energy) based on real time recordings of speed (HDE-power) • For HDEs, integrated calculation of overall ESC & ETC and single modes • Transportation efficiencies taken into account • Predetermined post-processing applied Calculations: Overall scheme

  2. DGI • Cut-points according to flowrate and instrument calibration • Total sampling volume calculated either as Q x t or flowmeter recordings given by the user • Diffusion Charger • For Non-Dekati DCs, directions given to directly import active surface and not current values. • For Dekati DCs, calibration values used • Actual flowrate taken into account • CPC • Coincidence correction possible for 3010 models • For monodisperse aerosol, DMA efficiencies according to SMPS manual Calculations:Instruments I

  3. ELPI • Cut-points provided by the user • Only raw values imported • Correction for space charge and difussion losses according to Dekati’s latest algorithm • Filter stage calculation taking Stage 1 kernel into account, according to Moisio • Different efficiencies to accommodate filter/no filter use • SMPS calculations done by TSI software. Only option is multiple charge correction (database only includes corrected values) Calculations:Instruments II

  4. Filter stage calculation for ELPI • Losses corrections • Coincidence correction for CPC • Data synchronisation (length of recordings) • Post-processing to obtain pre-determined values (dg, D30/Dtot, etc…) • DC calculations (if using Dekati’s DC) • Obtain the database format • Re-processing! Calculations:What is difficult to do not using partcalc.xls

  5.
