  3. A person is bullied when he or she is exposed repeatedly to negative actions on the part of one or more other persons, and he or she has difficulty defending himself/herself.

  4. About 30% of U.S. teens have been involved in bullying • Physical bullying is more common among boys • Verbal and emotional bullying is more common among girls

  5. Why Students Bully Strong needs for power and negative dominance Satisfaction in hurting others Rewarded in some way for their behavior either materially or psychologically

  7. Types of Direct Bullying Verbal bullying including name calling and derogatory comments Physical bullying such as hitting, kicking, and shoving Money and things taken or damaged Threatening or forcing someone to do something
