  1. Friday 12/15/17 Notebook Entry: Yellowstone and Hawaii are not at the edge of plate boundaries as you can see in the map below. How do you think these volcanoes formed?

  2. Topic: Are the locations of earthquakes and volcanoes related? • Earthquakes • What causes an earthquake? • Where do earthquakes normally occur? • Volcanoes • What causes a volcano? • Subduction zone volcanoes and hot-spots • Where do volcanoes usually occur?

  3. Expectations for Use of Chromebooks • Be Responsible • Always use the one you are assigned. • DOUBLE CHECK YOUR NUMBER TODAY!!!! I have updated the list. • Only use it in ways that are intended for the assignment. • Return it to the correct spot and gently plug back in. • Be Respectful • Let me know if it is not working right.

Earthquakes and Volcanoes Investigation • You will be working through each model with your hip partner. • Each person will fill out their own investigation sheet. • The goal for today is to get through at least the first two models. • When a model asks you to go to a website you will find the links on Mrs. Burke’s webpage • Go to Unit 3 Plate Tectonics to find the links

  5. End of the Period • Turn your packet into the drawer for safe keeping over the weekend. • Return your chrome book to the correct spot and gently plug back in.

  6. Monday 12/18/17 • Copy this week’s schedule into your assignment notebook. • There is no notebook entry today.
