Day-to-day operations summary: Planned / Unplanned Outages of Market Trials • Planned Outages • 08/20/2010 12:00 P.M. – 08/20/2010 6:00 P.M. • Application patch deployments are planned in the Nodal production environment and will intermittently affect services rendered by the following systems: • EWS ( Web services) • Unplanned Outages • 08/13/2010 09:00 A.M. – 08/13/2010 11:00 A.M. • A Hardware outage on one of our AIX frames in the Austin datacenter forced an emergency site failover of the Nodal production systems over to the Taylor center. ERCOT’s infrastructure team, along with IBM, is investigating the cause of the failure. The following application services were affected as a result of this outage. • MMS • EWS • MM-UI • 08/16/2010 8:00 A.M. – 08/16/2010 09:30 A.M. • Users experienced issues with downloading reports via URLs provided by the EWS Get Reports service. Standing Reports and Updates: General Reminders / Updates Reminders/Updates • Updates to Tracking Artifacts • The Known Issues tracking sheet will refresh overnight to the Readiness center at http://nodal.ercot.com/readiness/markettrials/rtm/index.html • Network Model Update • The network model database was updated on Wednesday 8/18/2010 • The next network model database load will occur Wednesday 9/1/2010 • Update: Outage Scheduler with Zonal Outage Transfer • Purging of test data and Zonal to Nodal Transfer completed the morning of 8/16/2010 as planned at 10:30 AM • TSPs / QSEs should now be working on validating outages effective for September, 2010 and December 1, 2010 and later. • Reminders: • Resource Outages were not transferred by design • Request list of Outages not transferred from MarketTrials@ERCOT.com • Send email to Market MarketTrials@ERCOT.comconfirming outages have been validated by 9/17 for all Outages December and beyond • First production pull of OS data is scheduled for 10/2 for the first CRR Auction http://nodal.ercot.com 6

Real Time Market / LFC Update • SCED Week 29 • System Lambda at $2250 offer cap or higher for 373 intervals (compared to 425 last week) • From 8/12 – 8/16, average of 1200MW dispatched away from units where LDL has been set to HDL due to bad telemetry • From 8/17 – 8/18, average is only 300MW, resulting in reasonable prices • Primary cause is actual generation > HSL http://nodal.ercot.com 9

State Estimator Convergence Update Convergence Dips on the 11th and the 13th • These Dips occurred in the morning hours during Ramp Up • Historically, telemetry quality drops during the evening and is corrected during the morning hours • ERCOT shift engineers will begin monitoring more closely during the evening hours and calling MPs to correct issues • This is another preparation step as we near the 168-Hour test and other September activities http://nodal.ercot.com 16

  18. 24-Hour Test Update 24- Hour Full-System Market and Reliability Test • Timeline • This week’s 24-Hour Full System Test will conclude at 12:00PM today • Generation is currently switching back to Zonal which started at 11:00AM • Hot Line Call will be made once all generation is switched back to Zonal control • Preliminary results including CPS1 score will be shared at the end of the test • Results will be shared on 8/30/2010 Monday Call with additional details provided on September 3, 2010 Friday call • Any issues to be resolved will be updated on the Monday call • GREDP results to be sent out the week of 8/30/2010 http://nodal.ercot.com 18
